Stockton Hall Hospital (Priory Group) is an independent Mental Health Hospital on the outskirts of York providing specialist healthcare to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA)

 

At Stockton Hall, we are well-known for producing positive clinical outcomes for highly complex patients. We provide a medium-secure care setting in which patients access a broad range of therapeutic interventions including one-to-one and group-based psychological treatment. Our service has produced excellent recovery results for patients, maximising their opportunity to progress to conditions of lower-security as safely and efficiently as possible.

The facility is split across seven wards as follows:

16 bedded female ward - Mental Health and Personality Disorder

16 bedded male ward - Personality Disorder

8 bedded elderly male ward - for those with a settled in presentation in need of rehabilitation for mental illness and/or personality disorders

Two 24 bedded male wards for mental health focus

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced RMN or RNLD to take on the role of Ward Manager. The successful candidate must have a proven record of accomplishment of leading diverse teams to deliver the highest standard of care with service user involvement, quality and performance at the heart of their practice. If you have, the drive and passion to make a difference to patient outcomes whilst keeping staff engagement high on your agenda then we want to hear from you. 

 

The ward manager role is pivotal in the successful working of the Multidisciplinary teams and is a key role in the success of the service and the successful candidate must have:

Developed organisational and planning skills to ensure effective resource planning and management

Experience of working at a charge nurse grade and preferably within a secure environment

The ability to oversee the quality of care, record keeping and performance audits are at the forefront of clinical activity

An ability to train and develop the team to meet best practice, identify potential failings, promote any lessons learnt to embed change

Experience of undertaking clinical investigations, complaint handling and HR investigations 

Has a positive can do attitude and willingness to embrace change
