Job Advert Role Description

Hurworth House School is a SEMH specialist provision working with children and young people from the age of 5 – 19 years.  It is an expanding school which has a bespoke primary provision and is continuing to develop. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an environment which provides a blended academic and therapeutic approach.  The school employs a professional and experienced therapy team and are developing practice and expertise in a range of areas, leading to innovative and successful approaches for the most marginalised children in our society.

We are looking for an outstanding Deputy Head Teacher, with a passion for providing children and young people with special needs with the best possible education, to join the school’s senior leadership team. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the offer and delivery of an innovative curriculum, working closely with the full education team to provide the highest possible standards of teaching and learning. 

The role is mainly non-classroom based, although your responsibilities may include some teaching.  This post is suitable for candidates who have proven leadership experience, either at Middle Leadership or SLT level, who are excited by innovative practice and want to make a difference to the lives of all pupils in our school.

The role will have specific strategic focuses within the school in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum, Personal Development and Behaviour.
