Job Advert Location Description

Ogilvie Court is a 25-bedroom specialist residential care setting, comprising of four Individual Houses personalised to the individual resident’s needs, wishes and choices. Ogilvie Court is set within four acres of private gardens and woodlands situated in a peaceful, rural location near to the village of Earls Colne, Colchester. We provide opportunities for individuals to access the wider community facilities including access to education opportunities, the gym, clubs, bowling and social engagement to support individuals to lead in living fulfilled lives. There are great facilities on site for the people we support  including access to a nature trail, a large activity resource centre , sensory rooms and quiet areas including seasonal activities and participation in the upkeep of our horticultural centre and vegetable plots. 

At Ogilvie Court, we provide 24/7 continuous support to Adults of all ages living with autism, learning disabilities, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours of concern in a homely environment. Staff are trained to provide support tailored to individuals’ needs and wishes which are wide-ranging within the service.  Some of the people we support wish for our help with administering medication, providing personal care, cooking, cleaning and communication. For others their wishes may be to access medical services, financial support and access to the community or to paid employment. 

Job Advert Role Description

Our Maintenance Person role involves responding to the needs of the services in respect of preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and building projects and repairs at Ogilvie Court with due regard for the safety of the people we support, staff and public.

Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record is required, working in a maintenance or building role along with a good understanding of health and safety legislation and the ability to complete regulatory checks and paperwork.
