Job Advert Role Description

Our Children’s Home situated near Ledbury are seeking a permanent full-time Team Leader. Situated near the picturesque town of Herefordshire, Callow Hills supports young people who are aged between 8 - 19 years old.

We want you to get off to the best start with us so we are giving you £250 when you join Priory Group and then when you are settled in in 6 months’ time we will give you an extra £250 for your hard work!

Do you have a qualification at Level 3 in Children's Residential Childcare?

Do you have previous experience of leading a team in a residential children's home?

Our Senior Support staff work under the direction of the Registered House Manager and effectively lead a team of Support Workers who enable the delivery of care and education to our students and young people.  By guiding and managing the team, our Team Leaders ensure that the children's home complies with local procedures, corporate policy, statutory regulations and quality standards.

Our Team Leaders have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective organisational capability
  • Flexibility to respond to the changing needs of those we support
  • A strong “can do" attitude
  • Understanding and delivery of Regulatory Requirements and expectations
  • Robust understanding of Safeguarding and child protection
  • Financial viability and handling of site funds.

Some of the Team Leader duties include:

  • Day to day care and support of our children and young people
  • Internal monitoring, auditing and administration relating to the care and support of our young people
  • Shift leading and organisation skills, ensuring staff team are working cohesively and shifts are running as planned to meet the young peoples needs.

A Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role. Successful applicants will need to have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

Due to the rural location of the Home in Ledbury, Herefordshire, you would need to have a full UK driving licence.

We use a rotating shift pattern to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need.  This may include working some weekends and bank holidays.

Week 1: Monday and Thursday

Week 2: Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 

Week 3: Tuesday and Friday
