Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Southampton is located in Hampshire on the edge of the beautiful New Forest. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Social worker to work across our two adult wards. These are Skylark ward, our adult eating disorders ward and Sandpiper ward, our adult acute ward. 
We are currently looking for a qualified Social worker to join our Therapies team, using their skills, knowledge and understanding of practice to provide a Social Work Service to patients on the adult wards.

You will be responsible for:
- Taking a lead for safeguarding across the adult wards. 
- Offering a Social Work perspective to work with patients and the multi-disciplinary team, highlighting and challenging discriminatory structures and practices where identified
- Acting as a contact between relatives, agencies and other organisations 
- Contributing to care plans and tribunal reports
- Where required supporting patients to access housing departments, legal agencies and department for work and pensions

Experience and qualifications required:
•  Degree level Social Work qualification
•  Registration with GSCC (RSW)
•  Detailed knowledge and understanding of current  mental health legislation
•  Experience within a similar setting or display a willingness to learn
