We are an independent sector hospital however, all of our patients are commissioned by the  NHS with whom we have developed very positive working relationships.  Our hospital was rated ‘Good’ in the most recent CQC inspection.

We have a diverse and extensive MDT including Ward Managers, Charge Nurses, Speciality Doctors, Night Managers, Support Workers, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Activity Coordinators, the Senior Management Team and discharge co-ordinators from our local NHS trusts.

We pride ourselves on excellent working relationships with patients, families and external agencies to support collaborative working and ensure clear communication throughout the care pathway.

The Hospital has three wards:

Harris Ward – 8 bedded low secure continuing care ward for females
Littlemore Ward (this post) – 10 bed female psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU)
Barton Ward -  9 bed female acute ward an acute ward

Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking a full time Consultant Psychiatrist who will work alongside a dedicated Speciality Doctor and full multi-disciplinary team on our 10-bed PICU unit.

Previous Consultant experience in a PICU setting is desirable but not essential
You will fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients
You must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatry and have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties
Valid GMC registration
Evidence of post registration continuing professional development
A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality
Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
The post-holder will participate in a 1 in 8 non- residential on call rota
