This role would be covering 3 homes in Cardiff and 2 homes in Abergavenny.

Ty Ffynu is a four-bedded community residential home providing step-down care for both male and females suffering from complex mental illness.

The facility uses a holistic and person-centred approach with support from our experienced multidisciplinary team. People are encouraged to make their own choices, which lead them towards independence

Brynawel is a five-bedded community residential service that provides specialist rehabilitation and recovery support, treatment and therapy for males and females diagnosed with complex mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or schizoaffective disorder.

Our aim is to help individuals gain confidence and build independence in order to improve their quality of life

Avalon is a specialist residential home for adults with either a primary diagnosis of learning disabilities and/or associated mental health issues. The home is ideally located for safe, structured and gradual reintegration into the community along with good transport link to Cardiff city centre.

Beechley Drive is an Enhanced Community Group Home, providing support through rehabilitation and recovery for adults with a learning disability and/or mental health conditions. The home comprises of 2 separate units with four residents in each.

Beechley Drive is located on the outskirts of Cardiff City Centre with excellent transport links.

The home accommodates adults covering two houses, one mixed sex and one female only. Our service is able to provide homely accommodation to 8 clients aged 18 and over who require 24/7 support.

The multidisciplinary team work together to develop personalised, recovery focused treatment programmes and care pathways, as well as a range of therapies to meet all service user needs.

The home aims to stabilise mental health, reduce behaviours that challenge, develop daily living skills and actively maintains working relationships with case managers and community teams to enable a smooth and successful transition to life outside the home environment. Close links are maintained with local support groups, education and employment providers in order to help facilitate into the community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join us here at the Enhanced Community Homes in Cardiff. You will join our friendly multidisciplinary team of staff where you will undertake your role by identifying and delivering appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of clients.

We aim to support clients in developing the life skills needed to enter back into the community where appropriate.

Key duties:

Undertaking specialist structured, semi-structured and standardised psychological assessments

Developing specialist psychological formulations based on assessments

Formulating plans for clients psychological treatment

Implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups

Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the home's policies and procedures.

Providing support to staff in the form of reflective practice groups, and staff training.

We are looking for someone who:

Is registered with the HCPC as a Psychologist.

Has some experience of working within mental health.

Has training in clinical and psychological psychometrics

Has skills in individual and group work and in programme planning.

Has skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment to inform the psychological formulation and intervention.

Has well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex, highly technical and / or clinically sensitive information

Has some experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.
