Job Advert Role Description

Hurworth House School is a SEMH specialist provision working with children and young people from the age of 5 – 19 years.  It is an expanding school which has a bespoke primary provision and is continuing to develop.  This is an exciting opportunity to work within an environment which provides a blended academic and therapeutic approach.  The school employs a professional and experienced therapy team and are developing practice and expertise in a range of areas, leading to innovative and successful approaches for the most marginalised children in our society. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to take a strategic lead on pedagogy and academic innovation to ensure the highest standards of teaching across the school, with particular responsibilities for teacher training and development throughout the School and the induction of new staff, leading on pedagogy and academic innovation to ensure the highest standards of teaching across the school. As such, they should be well informed about current pedagogical trends, research and developments in education. The ideal candidate  will have a professionally recognised teaching qualification and a detailed understanding of statutory regulations and knowledge practice and progression in mainstream, special and independent schools.

A thorough understanding of the Ofsted inspection process and an ability to work across the full remit of the school and provide a high level of accurate and effective reporting.
