Job Advert Role Description

As part of our commitment to ensuring operational effectiveness of sites in terms of maintenance and facilities services we have created the new position of Head of Maintenance to join the Estates Team. This is part of a forward plan to develop a Facilities Management Team to support our operational colleagues to ensure that we are providing a safe and functional environment for all of the staff and service users across all Priory Group sites. The Head of Maintenance will support in various projects and it is therefore important that the Head of Maintenance is able to manage relationships with stakeholders across the business creating close working relationships with operational teams and any 3rd parties alike. 

Head of Maintenance responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • To support in the management and control of maintenance related budgets
  • To build strong working relationships and work constructively with colleagues- in particular SSM’s / site leaders / other FEM team colleagues/divisional SMT’s ensuring collaborative working and clear communication on plans and changes to maintenance provision across all sites
  • To support operational colleagues to effectively manage Maintenance/Facilities Management across the Group, ensuring high quality and value for money
  • To contribute to the Group’s overall FM strategy, providing appropriate reports to the Group Director of Estates
  • To implement change management to achieve value for money and a first class provision
  • To ensure all programmes for Group facilities are compliant with relevant regulatory frameworks including those overseen by CQC, NHS England and Ofsted
  • Lead the daily liaison with the Estates team to ensure that tasks are aligned to the single strategic plan for the FEM function as a whole
  • As the Facilities Management Team grows in the future there will be line management responsibilities

What we want from a Head of Maintenance:

  • Proven track record in an Operational /Facilities Management or similar role
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), and ability to brief senior stakeholders
  • Experience of working within the Healthcare, Adult Care and Education services sectors
  • Experience of working for a multi-site organisation
  • Ability to operate effectively as part of a geographically dispersed team
  • Organised with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
