Job Advert Role Description

Rossendale School are currently seeking a part time Housekeeping Assistant to join their friendly support services team.

This post is to provide specific cleaning duties within our School for children aged 8 - 18 years who have complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties with associated autism spectrum conditions.  The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a DBS check and a number of training courses to ensure they are fully aware of all the pupils needs.

This role involves:

  • Working within a team of other cleaners adhering to the published rostered days and hours
  • Cleaning all areas within our School setting in a hygienic way adhering to the cleaning standards published on the schedules
  • Ordering stock required each week for each cleaning area, within the units you are responsible for
  • Use recommended products as per guidance and maintain adequate stock levels to ensure an efficient service is provided. 

The successful candidate should have a good general education and a sound understanding of COSHH, fire regulations and health & safety along with some experience gained within a similar environment.

The school currently accepts pupils from some 16 different Local Education Authorities in the North West and although we are predominantly a day school, there is provision for up to 12 pupils to board Monday to Friday in term time only.  We have also had our registration changed recently to incorporate admitting more young people up to the age of 18 at our Sixth Form, which now means that we can take up to 110 young people.
