Woodbourne Priory Hospital (WPH) is a unique mental health hospital based in the heart of Edgbaston Birmingham. WPH is a 79 bedded mental health hospital that cuts across four different psychiatric subspecialties. We are an independent sector hospital, however majority of our patients are NHS patients and we work very closely with local NHS trusts and NHS England to promote recovery and facilitate discharge at the earliest opportunity that is safe. We have a diverse and extensive MDT including Ward Managers, Charge Nurses, Speciality Doctors, Night Managers, Support Workers, Psychologists, Art Therapist, Family Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Activity Coordinators, the Senior Management Team and discharge co-ordinators from our local NHS trusts and NHSE.

We pride ourselves on excellent working relationships with patient, families and external agencies to support collaborative working and ensure clear communication throughout the care pathway.

Our wards are:
Adult service
Maple ward: 16 bed mixed acute ward for young adult aged 18 – 25 yrs
Beech ward: 12 bed mixed acute ward for young adult aged 18 – 25 yrs
Acer ward: 10 bed mixed acute adult ward (opening May 2021)
Eating disorder Unit
Oak ward: 9 bed EDU 
Private Service
Manor ward: 9 bed private ward for Addictions and General Psychiatric care
Mulberry ward: 14 bed mixed General Adolescent Unit
Blossom ward: 10 bed mixed PICU (opening March/April 2021)

We are seeking a full time Consultant CAHMS Psychiatrist who will work alongside a dedicated Speciality Doctor to care for 10 patients at our newly commissioned CAMHS PICU and cover 2 beds on Mulberry ward.
• Previous Consultancy experience is desirable but not essential
• You will fulfil the role of Responsible/Approved Clinician to patients
• You must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties
• Valid GMC registration
• Evidence of post registration continuing professional development
• A positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice
• The post-holder will participate in an on call rota
