Job Advert Role Description

Are you an enthusiastic individual looking for a new challenge within the care sector? Priory Adult Care is looking for a creative activities co-ordinator to join our team.
Glebe House (formerly part of Craegmoor) is a Residential Home providing support for up to 24 adults living with a primary Mental Health diagnosis and possible other complex conditions
Some individuals also have difficulty with communication and present behaviours that challenge, as well as a range of other conditions such as epilepsy or learning disability. Some of the individuals with mental health issues may self-harm and have complex personality disorders, depression, bipolar disorder or other conditions that they need support with.

The Role
As Activities Co-ordinator you will look to create, plan and organise an interesting and varied program of daily activities, entertainment and events, promoting the wellbeing of the residents. Duties may include the following:
• Liaise with external companies to organise entertainment
• Listening to the Service Users though conversation and questionnaires to aid producing a popular program of events/activities/entertainment
• Develop a rapport with local community churches, cafés, gyms etc,
• Work alongside care staff, coordinating hairdressing/chiropody visits etc.
• Organise raffles & fund raising events for the residents to be actively involved in. Supporting residents understanding when fundraising for a chosen charity
• Documenting involvement in daily care records
• Generating specific activities care plans and planners for those we support depending in their need and risk presentation to support stimulation and minimise incidents
• Be an active member of the staff team in reviewing the care plans relating to activities on a monthly basis
• Completion of activities centred audits
• Generating risk assessments around specific activities
The ideal person will be organised and have some experience working with in the care sector, therefore being able to understand the needs of residents aiding activity choices. No experience as Activates Co-ordinator is required but a positive, enthusiastic attitude is a must.
