This may include reviewing physical observations, emergency treatment to patients in complex care, arranging appropriate clinical tests and investigations, and taking responsibility for chasing up results and acting on them in a timely manner.

There is both a first and second on-call rota - participation in this will be dependent on the level of experience.

Specialty Doctors are expected to participate actively in clinical audits and Quality Improvement projects undertaken by the Consultant Psychiatrists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
