Job Advert Role Description
Our services are medium and low secure hospital settings based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and provide a range of assessment and treatment services to over 90 adults with primary diagnosis of learning disability.
Our Social Worker role involves:
• Delivering a set of agreed service -level standards within a personalised Recovery Model of intervention.
• Undertaking to complete comprehensive social histories and risk assessments
• Coordinating discharge-planning
• Providing consultancy and training in safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
• Writing MHT reports, attending hearings and providing oral evidence
• Undertaking carer assessments and carer support.
• Working within a multi-disciplinary team
• Being Committed to anti discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice, and to empowering service-users to the fullest extent
• Liaison with external statutory agencies including police, local authorities and probation
To be successful as Social Worker, you’ll need:
• To hold a social work Qualification recognised by the Health care professional council.
• To be registered as a social worker with the Health care professional council.
• To have good understanding of the mental health and mental capacity acts and the code of practices.
• (Level 2) Qualified, Experience of working with people with a learning Disability, with forensic backgrounds.
• (Level 1) Qualified, experience Social worker who will be prepared to develop Forensic skills and knowledge of Learning disability and Mental disorders under supervision.
