Job Advert Role Description
Our children’s home in Rugeley are looking for Bank Residential Support Workers that are passionate about changing the lives of our young people. This role will suit those who are prepared to work shifts as and when required. Our rotas are comprised of early and late shifts, covering weekday and weekends.
Our team currently care for young people between the age of 5 - 19 who have autism and can display challenging behaviours. Our cosy home has a sensory room, dark den and an outdoor play area.
Due to the location of our home, being able to drive and having access to a car would be beneficial.
Duties include:
- Being the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
- Managing the well-being and behaviour of young people ensuring behaviours are addressed promptly and sensitively
- Supporting young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour
- You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies and advocating their needs
- Supporting and encouraging educational engagement and attainment including homework and behavioural support within the education setting
- You will provide or assist with personal care and promote a healthy lifestyle.
