Job Advert Role Description

We want you to get off to the best start with us so we are giving you £250 when you first start with us and then when you are settled in in 6 months’ time we will give you an extra £250 for your hard work!

We currently have a vacancy for a Deputy Manager at our children’s home based in March. 

Duties will include:-

  • To deputise for the manager in their absence
  • Act as a deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the home. 
  • Supporting the manager to run a successful staff team and in all day to day operations of the home
  • Assist the manager team with the supervisions of junior staff
  • Inducting new staff into the homes procedures and culture
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Assist the manager with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
  • Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour
  • Support the manager with all aspects of administration of the home including, payroll, finance, Health, Safety and Fire, appraisals etc
  • Support and encourage educational engagement and attainment including homework and behavioural support within the education setting.

A Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role and you will also be required to work towards a QCF Diploma level 5.  Candidates must have at least 2 years experience of working in a senior position within a residential children's home.

Due to the location of the home near March, you would need to be a driver and have your own car.

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need.  As a Deputy Manager in our Home you can expect to work 4 out of 7 days per week on a rota system; on average you will have 12 days off over a 28 day roster.
