Priory Hospital Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group and has 86 beds over eight wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon’s and Dementia. We are looking to recruit for Charge Nurses across all of our services.


Our Hospital is open 24 hrs a day and therefore you will need to be able to work both days and nights across all 7 days of the week. Our shifts generally run from 7:00am – 7.30pm for day shifts and 7:00pm – 7.30am for night shifts, and full time colleagues can expect to work 3 shifts per week for 3 weeks and 1 week where you will have 4 shifts (this will vary depending on the needs of Hospital). Although you will be allocated to a specific ward, there will be times where your knowledge and skills will be required on other wards.

Your previous experience as a Staff Nurse will help you as you lead and manage others to guide patients as they progress on their individual treatment journeys.

The role holder will be expected to participate fully with the clinical team and undertake direct patient care. Applicants must be self-motivated with good communication skills and  leadership experience.


Applicants should have the following experience/qualifications:

•           RMN qualified - With 2 years post-registration experience

•           Mentorship Qualification (desirable)

•           The ability to lead and motivate others. Must be flexible,                 enthusiastic, self-motivated and have the ability to supervise clinical teams.

•           A genuine interest in quality service delivery and development

•           The ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

•           Numeracy and evidence of analytical ability

•           Experience in completing audits


We will also consider Registered General Nurses (RGN) with significant mental health experience.
