Job Advert Role Description
The Priory Wellbeing Centre Birmingham is an outpatient clinic set in the heart of Birmingham delivering individual therapy to adults,children and adolescents.
The clinic maintains close links with the Priory Hospital Woodbourne enabling continuity of care if inpatient treatment becomes necessary. The consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and psychotherapists who use the clinic are all highly experienced in their respective fields of healthcare.
We’re currently looking for a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist on our Eating Disorder Unit-

ABOUT THE ROLE…
Priory is the UK's largest independent provider of Eating Disorder Services. We have a national offering of both outpatient and specialist residential services and also offer day care provisions.
The care and treatment provided address both the physical consequences of the eating disorder, as well as the related underlying psychological and social factors.
The basic aim of treatment is to help to restore a healthier eating pattern whilst providing psychological support to help with the feelings that emerge during this process.
The applicant will be involved in delivering both group and individual evidenced based therapies (for example CBT and MANTRA).
Suitable candidates will have interest in and knowledge of therapeutic approaches to eating disorders.
The post holder will need to be able to form positive relationships with colleagues and be interested in working in teams.
There are excellent CPD and training opportunities for employees within this service.
Attendance at national conferences and research interests are also encouraged.
Candidates should be accredited with a recognised professional body and experienced in both intervening individually and delivering group work. Additional experience with Mindfulness and other Third Wave approaches are welcome but a fluency with Cognitive Models and their applicability to Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Phobias and other conditions is vital.
In addition to your specialist therapeutic competence, excellent verbal and written communication, professional interpersonal skills, efficient and accountable record management and proficiency with IT are essential attributes.
You must have the required registration with the relevant Professional body BABCP and adhere to the associated Code of Conduct.
