The Priory Hospital Southampton is situated within 1.5 acres of beautiful grounds on the edge of the New Forest.  There is plenty of on-site parking and staff meals are offered at a small cost.  The Priory Hospital Southampton received an OUTSTANDING rating in Caring and was rated GOOD overall in their last CQC inspection in June 2019.  The report on CAMHS stated that the "young people said that "they felt safe on the ward and the staff treated them well".  It also noted that the leadsers on the service "had the integrity, skills and abilities to run it".

 

 

 

 

Job Advert Role Description

The Kingfisher Ward (CAMHS) is in an exciting phase of development, working closely with the local provider collaborative and working towards QNIC accreditation.

 

We require a nurse with experience in managing Psychosis or a special interest in the area and looking to develop their expertise.  The successful candidate will be patient centred and have the clinical ability to provide a high quality evidence based service, and the leadership skills to support the nursing team.  You will be working closely on a daily basis with the following professional groups: Psychiatry, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Family Therapy, Social Work, Activities team and the Education department.

 

As a Specialist CAMHS Practitioner - Early Intervention Lead you will have previous experience from the NHS or private care sector and will be a dynamic individual with a flexible, proactive approach.  You will be responsible for developing the qaulity of care provided by the team and specialising in care for patients that present with Psychosis.

 

Your responsibilities:

* Acts as a role model to promote a culture of learning development, inquiry and a team vision.

 

* Supervision of junior and nurse staff

 

* Developing a treatment pathway for patients that present with Psychosis

 

* Is aware of and can follow local and national guidelines within the hospital framework and can effectively share this with the nursing team.

 

* Actively supports and contributes to effective Multi Disciplinary Working.

 

To be successful in the role, you will:

 

* be a Registered Nurse with the NMC

* have at least 1 year's experience post-registration in Mental Health

* be a trained mentor

* have clinical supervision experience, training desirable

* have evidence of Continued Professional Development and intent to maintain and develop Continued Professional Development and leadership

* have good computer skills

* have effective written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
