Job Advert Role Description

Elm Park is a 17 bedded inpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit in Ardleigh which specialises in the assessment, care and treatment of adult residents (18+ years) with an acquired brain injury. We also have 2 step down community houses in the local area.

An exciting opportunity has opened up for a dynamic Therapies Assistant to join our therapy team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and delivery of activities in both group and individual setting working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to meet the client’s needs. These activities will involve assisting patients to develop their everyday life skills to also supervising and escorting leisure trips with the patient. 

The role will also require you to carry out reviews and monitor their rehabilitation progress. This will be done through supporting to devise and follow a balanced therapy timetable and recording all sessions on Carenotes.
The successful candidate will have; 
•  Excellent listening, 
•  Strong Communication and documentation skills
•  You will be motivated and highly reliable 
•  The successful candidate must be able to work within an emotionally demanding environment. 
•  Have a positive, creative and an imaginative approach to problem solving. 
•  The successful candidate will also need to be able to form a good rapport with patients and the transdisciplinary team. 

It is desirable that you will have relevant experience within a challenging healthcare environment. The role involves taking service users in to the community and on rehabilitation trips therefore it is essential for the post holder to have a full UK driving licence.
