Job Advert Role Description
Set in the leafy suburb of Edgbaston, close to Birmingham City centre, Priory Hospital Woodbourne is set in beautiful grounds, conveniently located for access to the West Midlands motorway network and with good local public transport links.
Our unique range of services gives our colleagues the opportunity to develop skills and experience of working with a broad range of mental health conditions across the hospital’s seven wards.
We provide a diverse range of inpatient services, including acute and psychiatric intensive care for adults (including our unique 18-25 year old service), child and adolescent mental health, specialist eating disorder (including day care) and private acute and addictions treatment programmes. Our multi-disciplinary teams take great pride in delivering personalised treatment programmes to our patients and have established an excellent reputation for providing the highest standards of care.

The successful candidate will be accredited with the BABCP and possess the skills and abilities needed to work within a Child and Adolescent setting, preferably gained through a relevant career history. Excellent communication and team-working skills are essential. Candidates will be able to undertake intellectual and psychological assessments and have a sound understanding of Cognitive Behavioural, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder therapeutic techniques. Some experience or understanding of working with eating disorders would also be beneficial.
We are looking for A Clinical or Chartered Psychologist to join our tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, to work within our full multi-disciplinary team comprising of Consultant Psychiatrists, therapists, education tutor, and nursing staff in delivering the highest quality of care to male and female patients ranging from 12 – 18 years of age presenting with acute psychiatric illness. Also the role will include providing outpatient therapeutic treatment to adolescents.
