Job Advert Role Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Deputy Manager who has experience of working with young people with challenging, complex and diverse needs, as well as knowledge of autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger’s syndrome. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed, skilled and friendly team at Bath Road and to contribute to the culture and feel of the home as we welcome our next young people.
Bath Road is a specialist children's home for young people aged 7 to 18 who have complex needs which may include autistic spectrum disorder (ASD). The home is located in the market town of Frome in Somerset, with easy walking access to the local town centre.
You will support the Registered Manager in the management of operations in order to ensure the smooth running of the living and learning environment, and ensure that the programme of care and the environment comply with statutory regulations and quality standards.
The successful candidate will oversee the effective implementation of care and independence programmes for our young people through the effective line management of the staff team, and manage shift patterns on a rota basis.
A QCF Diploma Level 3 in a relevant care/children & young people related area is desirable, with a requirement to work towards QCF Diploma level 5.
To enable us to offer a full and varied range of activities to our young people a clean driving licence with at least 3 years driving experience is essential.
The home provides residential provision for up to 52 weeks a year, is a stand alone children’s home, and is also linked to North Hill House and Newbury Manor Schools, both of which are in Frome.
The home’s focus is to promote the development of individual social behaviour, independence and personal skills and offering opportunities to practise these in real life settings. This ensures that our young people develop a positive outlook on life in a safe, warm, welcoming, structured and fun environment.
