Job Advert Role Description

We do something special, be a part of it!

At our children’s home in Gunnislake, we support up to three children between the age of 7-17 who have Autism and/or a learning difficulty.  We want Support Workers who will inspire and guide our young people to become their personal best.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare as part of their role.

Due to the location of the site, we require you to have your own transport or access to your own transport.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Support our young people with their daily routines, including their morning routine, supporting them to get ready for school during the week and for activities during the weekend.  You will be the friendly face when they finish school and support them with their evening plans
  • Encourage positive behaviours and caring for the well-being of our young people
  • Support the wider team of staff within the home to ensure our young people reach their full potential
  • Hold a clean driving license as there may be a requirement to work within one of our other homes in the area
  • Be supported by a team of professionals with a range of experience, along with a bespoke home specific training package
  • Be flexible to work shifts which will include days, evenings and weekends.  There is also the expectation that sleep ins are undertaken on a rota basis to provide support if it is needed throughout the night, these are paid in addition to daytime hours.  We are offering both part-time and full-time contracts so salary will vary dependent on your contractual hours.

What's in it for you?

For amazing work, we give amazing rewards:

  • Priory Perks reward and discount scheme
  • Comprehensive induction
  • Pension scheme
  • We cover the cost of your enhanced disclosure check
  • Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression
  • Employee recognition scheme.

We look after your career, too.  With our career pathways, you, like many of our staff, can go from support worker up to CEO level with guidance and learning supplied by us!

If you have been affected by coronavirus, or are tired of working from home we have care and education roles available across the country on a temp, part-time and full time basis.
