Job Advert Role Description

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll support and inspire our young people to achieve their full potential!

Our Senior Support Worker role in March offer a salary of £21,942.63 - £24,799 plus £35 per night sleep in.

Our Senior Residential Support Workers get involved with the following:

  • Being the young person’s champion and work as part of the wider team to strive to ensure that our young people achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child in placement
  • Giving guidance and support to all Residential Support Workers
  • Planning, managing and leading shifts ensuring children are kept safe and engaged throughout the day
  • Ensuring the Placement Plan and Risk assessment for each child is followed and adhered to at all times
  • Being responsible for the supervision of designated members of staff and to record this in the Supervision Sheet on the member of staff’s file
  • Ensuring education is promoted and supported and that each child’s attendance in education is maintained
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures, as well as risk assessments are followed at all times
  • Raising any concerns with the Registered Manager as appropriate.

A Level 3 QCF or Diploma in Residential Childcare and at least 2 years experience of working in a children's setting is a requirement for this role.  Due to the location of the Home near March, you would need to be a driver and have your own car.

We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need.  As a Support Worker in our home you can expect the following shifts; two longs days on shift followed by three days off, on average you will have 15 days off over a 28 day roster.

Rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted, our Children’s Home is situated between March and Peterborough in North Cambridgeshire. It’s a 5 bedded therapeutic unit for males aged 11-18 with SEBD. The home seeks to provide a safe and understanding ethos in which the young person can be assisted to address their behaviours and to take responsibility for their own actions. The emphasis of the work is by way of intervention and to challenge the inappropriate behaviour through a holistic therapeutic approach.
