We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist with experience in mental health to join our team at Priory Hospital Malvern.  Our Occupational Therapists enable service users to adapt to any aspect of their life with more independence, confidence and control.  Considering the service user’s own views carefully, you will assess their abilities to perform activities and design treatment programmes to increase their capability to tackle difficulties and progress within there recovery pathway.

Located at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Priory Hospital Malvern provides a specialist psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery service for 20 men aged 18 years or older in a beautiful and relaxing setting. Our patients suffer from enduring mental illness and/ or personality disorder.   We support the needs of both detained and voluntary patients and can manage patients with complex needs, including those with a history of offending.

We aim to support patients in developing the life skills needed to enter back into the community where appropriate.


Key duties

  • Participate in the planning, implementation / evaluation and ongoing review of treatment plans.
  • Organise and deliver therapeutic activities for service users.
  • Assess service users’ response to activities in accordance with agreed models of practice e.g. MOHO.
  • Produce accurate and timely documentation on all clients in line with your Professional Code of Conduct and organisational policies.
  • Carry out risk assessments including any potential hazards in the service users environment.
  • Attend multi-disciplinary meetings i.e. referral / review / business / CTP / CPA and weekly ward rounds.
  • Participate in research where appropriate and contribute to the development of service policies.
  • Take part in service development and Occupational Therapy pathway within the Hospital.
  • Take part in the recruitment process of other staff as required, supported by the senior staff.
  • Ensure the service meets the agreed performance / contractual targets and adheres to local and government initiatives
  • Deliver training where appropriate for other professional


About you

  • Good personal organisational skills and effective communication skills.
  • HPC registered Occupational Therapist
