If so, we have the perfect role for you!

Knowing that you are making a difference to people’s lives is rewarding in itself. However, our many roles offer much more than that. As well as helping you grow and develop your talent, we want you to feel proud of where you work and what you do.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join us here at Priory Hospital Malvern.   You will join our friendly multidisciplinary team of staff where you will undertake your role by identifying and delivering appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of clients.

Located at the foot of the Malvern Hills, Priory Hospital Malvern provides a specialist psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery service for 20 men aged 18 years or older in a beautiful and relaxing setting. Our patients suffer from enduring mental illness and/ or personality disorder.   We support the needs of both detained and voluntary patients and can manage patients with complex needs, including those with a history of offending.

We aim to support patients in developing the life skills needed to enter back into the community where appropriate.

Key duties:

  • Undertaking specialist structured, semi-structured and standardised psychological assessments
  • Developing specialist psychological formulations based on assessments
  • Formulating plans for patients’ psychological treatment
  • Implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups
  • Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Hospital’s policies and procedures.
  • Providing support to staff in the form of reflective practice groups, and staff training.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is registered with the HCPC as a Psychologist.
  • Has some experience of working within mental health.
  • Has training in clinical and psychological psychometrics
  • Has skills in individual and group work and in programme planning.
  • Has skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment to inform the psychological formulation and intervention.
  • Has well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex, highly technical and / or clinically sensitive information
  • Has some experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care.

To recognise your hard work, we would like to offer you:

  • An excellent careers pathway – there are plenty of career opportunities within Priory for you to explore and progress within.
  • Free parking – because who should pay to park at work?
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays – plenty of time for holidays!
  • An extra day annual leave for your birthday!  - Because we believe no one should have to work on their birthday.
  • Access to our Priory Perks app – save your-self money at lots of high street retailers, restaurants and other services.
  • Comprehensive induction - we want you to be the best you can be in your new role and we invest the time to make sure you understand what that role is and how you can be successful in it.
  • Wellbeing initiatives at site – whilst you care for our patients, we care for you and your wellbeing.
