Our services are medium and low secure hospital settings based on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and provide a range of assessment and treatment services to over 90 adults with primary diagnosise of learning disability.

Job Advert Role Description

Our Nurse Night Coordinator Role is to provide a high profile, visible clinical    leadership to the ward nursing team. To promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all patients, employees and visitors. To ensure that standards of patient care are maintained at all times within the parameters of operational  policies and governing legislation

 

Shift/resource management in capacity of  Senior Nurse on site

Effective strategic resource management.

Leadership decisions within the context of site Manager

Performance management of junior staff

Ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Personal development needs

Discipline and grievance issues

Serious incident reviews and implementation of recommendations.

 

Advisory role to nursing staff.

 

Support the implementation of local Clinical Governance Strategy

Clear application of clinical experience

Satisfactory completion of objectives as agreed at appraisal and monthly supervision.

Satisfactory fulfilment of core competencies.

Demonstrates clear application of continuing professional development portfolio.

Provide strong and robust leadership in the clinical environment using the core skills of facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution, teaching and delegation.

Develop a coaching culture within the clinical environment.

Support the implementation of clinical and corporate governance for the management of patient information.

Participate in service specific strategy and development.

 

Accept responsibility for the hospital wards and liaise with the Senior Nurse on Call/Senior Manager on Call/Registered Clinician on Call basis within the framework of the on call structure.

Manage the achievements and maintenance of the Care Standards Act.

Provide managerial leadership to Registered Nurses on night shift to ensure all night shift tasks and allocated Primary Nursing duties are conducted.

 

Monitor the performance and conduct of staff and to take corrective action when necessary.  This will include, where appropriate, involvement in the disciplinary process

          Experience within a forensic setting within a leadership/management capacity.

          Relevant sufficient post registration experience.

          Relevant experience in a similar environment.
