Job Advert Role Description

Housekeeper

Are you looking for a new challenge as a Housekeeper?

Why not turn your talent into a career with Priory!

We are looking for a Housekeeper to join the Priory Middleton ST George, to deliver a high quality housekeeping service within the hospital to assist the well-being, comfort and development of our patients. We are always on the lookout for people with transferable skills and life experience and so you don’t need any experience as our friendly team at the Hospital will teach you everything you need to be successful in this role! You just need to be a good communicator as you will be interacting with our patients and colleagues at the Hospital.

The Priory Hospital Middleton St George is located in Darlington, County Durham and provides individualised treatment and care for people with mental health needs of adult working age and who present with complex and challenging behaviours, in a safe and supportive environment. Our comprehensive integrated services offer complete care pathways allowing service users to transfer effortlessly between the most appropriate care, meeting individual needs enabling recovery and re-engagement within the community and maximising life opportunities.

Our multi-disciplinary teams provide care for up to 101 male and female service users, working collaboratively with their commissioners, across our 7 wards and our nearby community house.  We deliver recovery and rehabilitation services which include a specialist female Personality Disorder service and two new purpose built PICU units (one male one female). Our focus is on the delivery of excellent care, empowering service users to progress towards the least restrictive setting and towards independence. Our vision is to place our Service Users at the heart of our service provision, working closely with them and their carers to support their recovery and rehabilitation.

Of most recent note we have been assessed as "outstanding" by the CQC in November 2018 and we aim to continue to improve on our levels of performance and care delivery throughout 2020 and the coming years.

This role offers plenty of variety and everyday will be different but some duties will include:

Deliver and maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the hospital, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
Ensure that Priory minimum standards are delivered in all hospital areas in a timely and efficient manner, as part of a team.
Identifying and reporting damages, faults and other related issues to the maintenance department to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet our high quality standards and statutory regulations.
Use equipment efficiently.
Ensuring the confidentiality and identity of patients residing at the hospital.

To recognise your hard work, we would like to offer you:

An excellent careers pathway – there are plenty of career opportunities at  Priory for you to explore and work in whatever your interests are.
Job security – there will always be work in the Healthcare Sector!

Free parking – because who should pay to park at work?
25 day’s annual leave plus bank holidays – plenty of time for holidays!
An extra day’s annual leave for your birthday!  - Because we believe noone should have to work on their birthday.
Access to our Priory Perks app – save your self-money at lots of highstreet retailers, restaurants and other services.
Comprehensive induction - we want you to be the best you can be in your new role and we invest the time to make sure you understand what that role is and how you can be successful in it.
Free COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations) training course –a great course to add to your career portfolio!

If you have a ‘can do’ attitude and are teamplayer then we would love to hear from you.  Please apply today.
