Job Advert Role Description

Stockton Hall is a highly specialist 112 bedded hospital where patients requiring medium security can maximise the value of therapeutic interventions available.  The patient group consists of men and women with Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder and men with mild to moderate Learning Disability / Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Creative Skills Technical Instructor (TI) post within the Occupational Therapy (OT) Department at Stockton Hall. The role will include working with patients in safe and supportive environments, providing OT interventions which meet patients’ needs and choices yet are thoroughly risk assessed for a medium secure environment. 

Currently, we are developing a wider scope of meaningful occupations available to patients within the service. The role will involve a focus on horticulture/gardening and domestic activities, and opportunity to facilitate interventions based any other creative skills or interests that the post holder may have, such as; music, crafts, arts or language etc.

You will be able to demonstrate ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of a range of individuals, including adults with mental illness, developmental disorders and complex needs.
