An outstanding relationship builder, you will also know how to inspire exceptional performance and maintain a positive and enthusiastic learning environment for pupils and colleagues alike.  You will lead and manage the development and implementation of the curriculum and education programmes through the process of continuous improvements, the effective use of self-assessment methods and the efficient deployment of staff.

The successful candidate must come from an SEN background with experience of AS/ASD being highly beneficial but not essential.  Experience of leading a broad and flexible curriculum from KS2 - KS5 is important to ensure that we can offer support to all year groups including our 16+ year groups both by offering education ourselves and via local colleges.  The successful candidate will be a fully qualified experienced teacher with relevant post-graduate specialist qualifications together with a sound understanding of the current legislation and statutory regulations relating to education and care.

With the Thrive approach embedded throughout the school, experience of and a passion for Thrive or similar programme would be an advantage.

  • Priory Perks reward and discount scheme
  • Comprehensive induction
  • Pension scheme
  • We cover the cost of your enhanced disclosure check
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Commitment to your ongoing training and career progression
  • Employee recognition scheme.

If you share our determination to achieve the best possible outcomes for all our pupils, we can promise you a collaborative culture, ongoing professional development and ample scope to use your creativity and initiative as part of a highly energised and supportive team.

Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 10 and 18 years. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a ‘cycle of failure’ and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a ‘culture of success’. We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives.

We offer bespoke packages of education and therapy for our young people. We strongly believe that some individuals will always struggle to ‘fit in’ to existing structures and will only thrive when their provision is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.

We warmly welcome our students into our community, which is underpinned by a culture of outstanding relationships, nurture and unconditional high regard.

As a therapy led provision, the Thrive approach is embedded across the school.  This is supported by a broad and varied curriculum offer including animal care; pupils at the school enjoy looking after the schools many animals, including goats and miniature ponies.
