Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is located in beautiful West Sussex and offers the opportunity to gain experience across many specialist mental health disciplines including Secure Services, a DBT Locked Rehabilitation service, HDU Services and Acute care.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to support our hospital in delivering therapeutic care and appropriate vocational activity to our patients. 

Your duties will include:
•  Take an active role in the DBT agenda on the wards by planning and facilitating DBT skills groups and other ancillary groups
•  Providing comprehensive OT assessment and treatment to enable patients to enhance their sense of wellbeing through engagement in occupation
•  Leading in developing vocational opportunities and qualifications for patients to engage with and achieve 
•  Conducting comprehensive risk assessments with service users as required 
•   Ensures the effective and efficient management of more junior staff 

Skils and experience:
•   BSc (Hons) or MSc in Occupational Therapy
•   Current HCPC registration
•   BAOT membership
•   At least 2 years of experience (ideally within a hospital setting)

This role would suit a reliable, committed, forward-thinking individual with who wish to develop their psychotherapeutic skills. As this role is to support service users with complex mental health difficulties, successful candidates would gain an insight into working with a range of mental health issues.
