Job Advert Role Description

Providing quality, inspiring innovation and  delivering value is what we set out to achieve at Priory Healthcare. Enabling our patients with mental health difficulties to receive a truly integrated and holistic approach to their treatment, regardless of complexity or severity, thanks to the knowledge and expertise of our multidisciplinary clinical teams.

The Priory Hospital Hayes Grove is an independent 46-bed psychiatric hospital for Working Age Adults (mixed), located in SE London in the quiet village of Hayes, Kent.  We provide care and treatment for patients with a wide range of Mental Health issues both as inpatients, daycare and outpatients.

At Hayes Grove, our private Lower Court ward specialises in treating general psychiatric conditions, and supports patients on our 28-day inpatient Addiction Treatment Programme (drug, alcohol and other addictions).  We also have a specialist, 20-bed NHS England-funded Eating Disorder Unit. as well as the 9-bedded Keston Unit, a specialist NHS-funded Asperger’s ward.

The hospital is situated in a leafy setting, with excellent public transport links to central London, Croydon and the surrounding Borough of Bromley areas. Free car parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the hospital.

We welcome informal enquiries by phone or in person if you would like to come and visit before applying for a role.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and creative qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to work with patients admitted to our busy adult Eating Disorders Unit inpatient facility.

The unit is made up of two separate wards to cater for patients who are acutely unwell, through to patients who are progressing through their treatment and transitioning back into the community. The unit is staffed by a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) consisting of two Consultant Psychiatrists, a range of Staff Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, as well as a Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Art Psychotherapist, and Occupational Therapists.

This is a permanent part-time position, which will require the post holder to provide a systemic family therapy service to the patients receiving inpatient care and their families. This will involve providing specialist systemic assessment and intervention for patients and their families and the successful candidate will also attend and contribute to ward rounds, CPAs, and MDT assessments, formulations, and care planning.

There will also be an opportunity for the post holder to undertake some systemic family therapy with outpatients and their families with varying presentations.

The post holder will have willingness to work across a variety of age groups and varying presentations, with an excellent track record in working in a high pressured and demanding environment.

The successful candidate will be accredited with the UKCP and AFT registered.

The therapy department also provides treatment for patients on the acute private ward, the autism unit, as well as those attending as day or out patients and is highly valued by staff within the hospital and feedback from service users is overwhelmingly positive.
