Job Advert Role Description

Priory Healthcare will be opening a new hospital set in the beautiful surroundings of Lickey Hills, to the south of Birmingham, in November 2020.  The hospital will provide services for both NHS and private patients, with a range of mental health conditions.

The service will comprise of 3 wards: a 10-bed adult Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (for adult men), a 12 bed adult Acute ward and a 12 bed Private Acute ward.  The service will take a multi-disciplinary approach to delivering personalised treatment programmes to our in-patients as well as offering a Private Outpatient service.

The role is extremely diverse and involves a range of direct individual and group interventions, indirect working and consultation to the wider staffing team, and supporting psychological approaches to care. There will also be opportunity to provide clinical supervision to other members of the psychological therapies team. Suitable candidates will have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and be registered with the HCPC. 


Suitable candidates will also have the drive to develop innovative approaches to intervening psychologically with this client group, be interested in contributing to service development in conjunction with the lead clinician and have the desire to contribute to the wider literature and evidence base with regards to these clinical approaches and professional issues.


There are excellent CPD and training opportunities for employees within this service, and funded and accredited training opportunities will be available and agreed as part of the role.
