Job Advert Role Description

We are seeking to strengthen our current team of Bank workers who can provide occasional shift cover across our children's homes in Frome, Shepton Mallet and Trowbridge.  Our Bank workers are trained to the same level as our permanent staff and are treated as an integral part of the team. This is to work days and nights.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have the ability to work flexibly across a shift system including early, late, weekend and night shifts
  • Be a key member of our team, providing high standards of person-centred support and care to our service users.
  • Build good relationships with both service users and their families using a creative and caring approach, supporting service users in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible.
  • Provide personal care and participation in activities which are key tasks for the role, so energy and initiative is vital
  • Be able to demonstrate a high degree of emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Hold a clean driving licence with at least 3 years driving experience which is an essential requirement to this role.

Farleigh Further Education College Frome is an independent specialist residential college for young people aged 16 to 25 with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger's syndrome and associated complex needs including behavioural difficulties.

The college has eight residential houses in the community each with its own identity, working ethos and dedicated team of staff. This provides learners with the opportunity to experience independent living in a range of different settings.
