Job Advert Role Description

Priory Group is the leading healthcare provider for mental health services in the UK with an established track record of delivering high-quality clinical care. The Priory Hospital Southampton is part of the Priory group offering outpatient, day care and inpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health difficulties. The hospital is located in Marchwood on the outskirts of Southampton and comprises 40 inpatient beds across three wards. 
 
Sandpiper Ward: This is an acute admissions unit comprising 17 beds.  Skylark Ward:  11 bedded specialist eating disorders unit 
Kingfisher Ward:  12 bedded CAMHS inpatient unit 
 
The hospital has a combination of employed and visiting consultants and well established multidisciplinary teams in all wards including nursing, therapy, occupational therapy and psychology input.  
 
The hospital provides a combination of NHS funded and private care and has been rated as “Good” in recent CQC inspection with “outstanding” rating in the "caring" domain.

The main purpose of the housekeeper is to deliver an efficient and high quality accommodation and housekeeping service within the hospital to assist the well-being, comfort and development of our residents. 

The duties of the role include:
- Deliver and maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
- Ensure that Priory minimum standards are delivered in all home areas in a timely and efficient manner, as part of a team.
- Identifies and reports damage, faults and other related issues to the maintenance department or home manager to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations.
- Adopt new services that are already introduced within the group.
- Use equipment efficiently, in order to gain a greater value for money.
- Occasionally required to assist less experienced colleagues.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and identity of residents residing at the hospital.


Knowledge & Skills 
- The role holder will need to have a good standard of English along with basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- No experience required as basic training will be provided.
- Communication and interpersonal skills as the role holder will be interacting with service users constantly and may respond to routine enquiries providing some basic information. More complex issues will be referred to the line manager 
- Flexibility and adaptability as usually the role holder will work within existing procedures
- Intelligent problem solving since the role is routine driven and as such problem solving will be derived from a range of pre-defined solutions.
- Great Team player 
- Strong “can do” attitude

Special Features
The role holder will be required to undergo training for COSHH, as well as partake in Priory’s mandatory training programme. 
The role holder will be required to have physical stamina, but will generally work in a pleasant andstable working environment.
