Job Advert Role Description

The Priory Hospital – Altrincham is a 56 bedded hospital and is part of the Priory Group, leading provider of specialist treatment in mental health. The hospital has an established reputation for providing the highest standards of care together with an extensive range of clinical services and is a principle provider to the NHS in the north of England, focussing on positive holistic outcomes through full service provision

The hospital is currently looking for a full time Kitchen Porter to join their busy catering team. The main purpose of this role is to support the catering operation with particular emphasis on the movement, storage and preparation of food within the hospital.

Key  accountabilities include ensuring all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company's Assured Safe Catering standards. The role holder will deliver meals and catering supplies to various areas within the hospital and under direction will assist with the basic prepartion of food items.

Additionally the role holder will ensure all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas is complted in a timely and efficicent manner. The role holder will have an appreciation of basic food hygiene and will ideally have previous experience in a related environment where customer service has been key to their role and where the quality and standard of their work has been a priority. Hours are generally Monday to Friday but some weekend working is required to provide cover for annual leave and other absences.
