Job Advert Role Description

Kneesworth House is a 155 bed Mental Health hospital, situated inb Cambridgeshire (on the Hertfordshire border) with good commuting access to / from London. The hospital has a full pathway of care including medium, low secure, locked rehabilitation and open recovery wards situated across the site.

To seek, process and document information as directed by the Mental Health Act Administrator, in relation to service users’ admissions, discharges, renewals, appeals and Mental Health Tribunals.
- Receive and scrutinise statutory documentation; ensure that errors are rectified within the legal timescale; be responsible for identifying an invalidating error and following documented procedures after consultation with the Mental Health Act Administrator.
- Create and maintain individual legal files for service users subject to the Act, safeguarding confidential information and statutory documentation.
- Maintain accurate data in relation to the use of the Act in order to provide statistical information for national and local reporting processes.
- To deal with telephone enquiries in an efficient, professional, courteous and confidential manner.
- To liaise with internal clinical staff and external professional bodies as required.
- Use  of Microsoft Office packages to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
- To deputise for the Mental Health Act Administrator in her temporary absences, as far as training skills will reasonably allow.
