Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital Enfield provides a full care pathway from medium secure, low secure to a locked rehabilitation wing. The full multidisciplinary team works with men who have a diagnosis of mental disorder and associated challenging behaviour.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Lead Occupational Therapist to work on the newly opened acute services. The successful candidate will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to develop and deliver a holistic standard of care.

Duties include:

  • Quickly assessing where a patient may require support and ensure these are addressed within risk assessments and care plans and make sure the patient is supported.
  • Create links between the care team on the ward and the patient’s community team, ensuring that a proactive approach is taken towards planning for discharges by ensuring any community based assessments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Take a proactive approach in supporting the wards within the hospital with monitoring any concerns amongst the patient group on the ward, ensuring the safety of patients at all times.
  • Develop community links with projects which can benefit our patient group by offering courses and opportunities within a community setting.
  • As the leader of the department, you will actively engage within the Clinical Governance of the hospital, attending meetings, providing feedback to other hospital leaders and working towards the agreed goals and objectives of the hospital.
  • Have a good understanding of the forensic framework which underpins policies and protocols within a Medium Secure Hospital.
  • Deliver supervision to members of your team on a monthly basis. 

Successful candidates will be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Must be HCPC registered.
