Job Advert Role Description

We are currently looking to grow our already established and dedicated team of care assistants at our site in Accrington.

Addison Court is a purpose-built care home providing a friendly and companionable place to live. Conveniently situated in an easily accessible residential area in the centre of Accrington, the home offers a supportive and safe environment with extensive communal space. Our lounges and dining areas have all been carefully designed to create a homely and comfortable atmosphere. Each bedroom, which has the added benefit of en-suite facilities, is designed to ensure comfort and safety and the friendly and welcoming decor helps residents feel at home. The home also benefits from a tranquil, fully enclosed garden, which offers our residents a relaxing atmosphere and a quiet retreat.

We do and we are passionate about providing excellent residential, nursing and dementia care and support to older people with varying levels of need. As a care assistant, you will have the opportunity to be part of 1000s of stories of inspiring care and support for our residents.

As a care assistant you will be supporting our residents with their day to day lives, encouraging them to live as independently as possible. Experience in this role is desirable. 

Our ideal care assistant will:

  • Assist qualified staff with implementation of individual resident care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the well being, dignity and treatment of all residents
  • Provide practical support and responsive care to residents who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation
  • Observe and monitor the well being of residents ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred  to senior staff/ the primary nurse and documented as appropriate
  • Monitor and allocate the work for Care Assistants
  • Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with residents, Colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries
  • Works with local management to develop and implement new services within the unit
  • Ensures that service users are receiving care, which is value for their money
