Priory Adult Care is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Assistant for our well-kept residential home on the outskirts of  Newark, at our older peoples service Boughton Manor.

Situated in the rural village of Boughton, Boughton Manor is a care home designed for older people with dementia and complex health needs. The home provides a specialist nursing service for individuals and our dedicated team ensure we meet the resident’s care and social needs. The home offers a supportive environment with extensive communal space and comfortable lounge areas, offers a warm and homely environment and each bedroom has been designed to ensure comfort and safety of the residents. 

The friendly and welcoming decor helps residents feel at home and there is a tranquil, fully enclosed garden, which offers our residents a relaxing atmosphere and a quiet retreat. There is an open door visiting policy and families and friends are always welcome.


The role

As a Maintenance assistant your primary duty will be to ensure that our residents live in a home that is a safe environment for them that adheres to health and safety standards. You will need to work closely with the home manager to ensure that all fixtures and fittings are in excellent condition and equipment is regularly serviced. Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the home is maintained as a safe and secure place to live for the residents
  • Maintaining the home and grounds to ensure they are in excellent condition at all times
  • Work closely with the home manager on long term maintenance plans
  • Check and repair fixtures and fittings that may include lighting and heating
