Kent House is a 17-bedded Tier 4 low secure hospital for young people aged 12 – 18 years with mental health, behavioural or psychological difficulties, including ASD, and an OFSTED-registered school which supports the young people with educational attainment.

The service is set in a rural environment with close links and transport to the local community and amenities.

We provide care for the young people admitted to Kent House Hospital in the least restrictive way and we adhere to the values and principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). We are members of the Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHSto measure and improve the quality of our care and treatment.


We are looking for an experienced and creative Occupational Therapist to develop and lead our occupational therapy services using evidence based and patient centred princples to enable young people to develop, confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living.

A Occupational Therapist who enjoys collaborative working with complex presentations of young people, their families and carers. Your role will be a critical contribution to the multidisciplinary team's outcomes. As such, delivering appropriate treatments and interventions for young people and their families to promote and develop their independent living skills, social skills, healthy living skills, activity structuring planning, with the view to improving mental wellbeing and achieving a succesful recovery into post discharge of the young people at Kent House.


The Occupational Therapist will have a key role in risk assessments and risk management of young persons with respect to progressing their Section 17 leave and reducing the young persons risk level with occupational intervention.


You will work closely with the MDT. Experience of working in in-patient setting is essential.


Skills in doing sensory integration assessments would greatly benefit this role.
