Job Advert Role Description

Pennine House School is looking to recruit an Humanities Teacher to join their Teaching team.

Located within Pennine House which is situated within the grounds of Fairfield General Hospital in Bury.

As a key teacher this role will involve Teaching Humanities to groups of students from all abilities, you will be liaising with parents and other schools to ensure our students have the best the learning and development opportunities.

Pennine House is a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) which provides treatment, education and therapeutic support for young people aged between 13 and 18 who are suffering from a range of complex mental health difficulties.  The 22 bedded service, which is managed by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, comprises of two wards; Hope Unit which has 12 beds and an average length of stay of 12 weeks and Horizon Unit which has 10 beds and an average length of stay of 12 months..

The successful candidate will be:

  • A passionate and innovative teacher who can quickly and effectively engage their students
  • A consistently 'good' or 'outstanding' teacher, with the results to prove it
  • An outward looking and highly motivated teacher who can lead in their area and share best practice
  • An enthusiastic and well-organised team player
  • Aware of how emotional, social and mental health difficulties may impact on learning and the strategies that can be deployed to support the pupils in and outside of the classroom.
