Our Children’s Home situated in Little Malvern, Worcestershire area is seeking a permanent full-time Residential team Leader. Underhill’s Registered Children’s home is part of the Priory specialist service, registered for up to three children who have complex needs which may include autistic spectrum disorder ( ASD ) and complex associated difficulties.

As a Team Leader, you’ll be doing the following:

  • Supporting the management to run a successful staff team and all day to day operations of the home
  • To assist the management team with the supervisions of junior staff
  • Inducting new staff into the homes procedure and culture
  • Ensuring the highest standards of care in relation to the young people’s physical, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
  • Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
  • Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour.
  • You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies
  • Support and encourage educational engagement

Our Team Leader roles in Little Malvern offer a salary of up to £18,000 per annum plus £40 nightly sleep in allowance. There is an opportunity for overtime if desired.

Level 3 in Children and Young People qualification is essential for this role. Successful applicants will have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.

Do to the remote location of the home and duties required you would need to have a valid driving license.

 Hours

A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Team Leader in our Home you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays. You should be happy to work approximately 6 sleep in’s per month, and 1 in every 3 weekends. This home is open 52 weeks a year.

You will be required to work 7 x 15 hour shifts on a transparent 3 week rolling rota basis:

Week One: Monday & Thursday

Week Two: Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

Week Three: Tuesday & Friday

That’s right! You get five consecutive days off every three weeks (between Week Two and Three)
