Job Advert Role Description

We are currently recruiting for Residential Support Workers to join their family at Arden Care & College part of the Priory Education & Children’s Services.

Located in the heart of Southport on the west coast of Lancashire, the college offers extensive learning and work experience opportunities within the local community, with the aim of increasing independence and employability skills for our pupils.

Arden College is a specialist residential college, providing specialist support and care for young people aged 16 to 25 with learning difficulties, including communication difficulties and/or behavioural support needs.

With a dedicated team of staff, we aim to provide every young person with an individually tailored programme of education, care, work experience, leisure and life skills and training within the community, enabling them to live as independently as possible and make their own life choices.

Our aim is to create a safe, secure and independent living environment where our young adults have a sense of belonging and a sense of ownership for their home. We are looking for residential support workers who will support our young people to develop the confidence and skills they need for the next stage of their lives.

As a Residential Support Worker you must be:

Patient, sociable and empathetic, in order to establish good relationships with our young people based on confidence, trust, understanding and mutual respect.
Prepared to deal with challenging behaviour which may be exhibited by a young person at any time for any number of reasons.Willing to assist in day to day household tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
