Priory Group have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Team Leader to join the team and support our growing business. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Team Leader will be responsible for processing monthly payrolls for Priory Group employees across the business. As well as supporting the processing of payrolls each month, the Payroll Team Leader will be expected to provide support to the Payroll Administrators within the team when necessary.  


Payroll Team Leader duties include but are not limited to 


• In liaison with colleagues, ensures that all employee related data is correctly entered into the Priory Payroll System, and that all necessary amendments have been completed prior to the payroll cut-off date
• Ensures the integrity, probity and reasonableness of local financial controls in respect of the payroll, in order to minimise financial risk via the correct implementation of local procedures and policies
• Ability to work well under pressure and to tight payroll deadlines 
• Assist sites and third parties with enquires and sometimes demanding and difficult situations which will require demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills
• Responsible for the accurate inputting of data, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time
• Coach and mentor the payroll administrators within the payroll team
• Complete month and year end PAYE reconciliation tasks and ensure all reporting is filed with HMRC before each deadline


What we would like from the Payroll Team Leader


• Likely educated to GCSE, with potentially A Level or further college study obtained.
• Ideally obtained CIPP qualification or working towards one
• A high level of numeracy and IT literacy
• A strong knowledge of payroll legislation
• Previous experience within a payroll team leader role
• Experience of working with large volumes is desirable 
• Previous sector relevant experience desirable 
• Previous experience with iTrent desirable
