Job Advert Role Description

We require a skilled leader who can demonstrate substantial experience of working in a senior leadership role with students who have Autism and/or learning disabilities. Our new leader must be prepared to work hard and lead the committed team through a period of change, improvement and development

The position as Principal of the college would also include management oversight of the residential homes associated with the college, these are both CQC registered homes and homes providing Independent Living.

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Places high quality outcomes at the heart of everything in the College and associated homes
  • Has a proven background in leading an independent education provision
  • Has a management qualification or higher qualification
  • Is committed to quality improvements and is adept at using data to monitor and review success across all aspects of the college and homes
  • Understanding the importance of providing flexible and personalised packages to meet the needs of every student
  • Has strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Has successful experience of working in partnership with local authorities, parents and other stakeholders
  • Is experienced in managing staff and challenging them to achieve the highest quality
  • Has good commercial understanding with experience in managing a budget and able to lead the strategic development of the service.

Arden College is a specialist day and residential college for students aged 16-25 years with Autism and associated conditions and/or learning disabilities.  The College is at an exciting time in its development as work is about to start on a new college building which will transform the provision on offer.
