Pelham Woods is a 21 bed rehabilitation and recovery service for women with complex mental health needs.


Our comprehensive multi-disciplinary team pride our selves on our ability to work both with enduring mental illness but also those who struggle with regulating emotions, acts of impulsivity and managing relationships.


The hospital is set in picturesque grounds overlooking the Surrey Hills and has extensive facilities including onsite Gym, Purpose Built OT Kitchen aswell as Occupational Facilities.


As a member of the team at Pelham Woods you will be encouraged to let your creative side flow, positively contributing to the sites success. You will also have free access to the onsite gym facilities.

We are looking for an Art Therapist with a Track record for Quality and innovation to join us at Pelham Woods.

The post holder will deliver appropriate and relevant treatments and interventions through group and individual work within the given field of therapy, in order to promote and develop the mental, emotional, physical and social well-being of clients; liaising with family and carers where necessary.


To be successful as An Art Therapist, you’ll need:



- To be State registered and be affiliated with BAAT/ HCPC/UKCP

- Significant previous experience or working in psychiatry

- Experience of working with enduring mental health problems and an understanding of the highly complex needs of this patient group.

- Excellent communication skills

- Developmed Skills of working within a psychodynamic framework

- An understanding of Safety and clinical risk issues

-Deminstrate initiatice and self motivation



- An interest in MDT approach to clinical Care

Understanding of and Experience of working withing a Multi Cultural Environment

- An inderstanding of and an intereset in institutional Dynamics
