Job Advert Role Description

We are low secure Hopsital based in Cardiff. The unit is home to 45 patients with enduring mental health and personality difficulties, most of whom also have forensic histories. The facility is split into six wards, along with semi-independent flats on-site.

 

The unit boasts a robust multi-disciplinary team where the psychiatrist works alongside colleagues from Psychology; Nursing; Occupational Therapy; and Social Work to provide high quality care.

 

Our aim is to rebuild the patient's confidence, self-esteem and hopes for the future and to give them the knowledge and resources to manage their own health so that they can manage their own sustainable recovery     

We are seeking a motivated individual to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist. As a consultant Psychiatrist you would work closely with the Medical Director as part of the senior management team to enable the hospital to provide and excellent operational and clinical performance. As a Consultant Psychiatrist you would lead a team of professionals from nursing, clinical psychology, social work, occupatioal therapy and others to manage an agreed number of patients. Work closely with the MDT teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model.
