Job Advert Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Surveyor to join our team and support our growing business. Reporting to the Regional Property Manager, the Maintenance Surveyor will have first line responsibility for ensuring effective maintenance regimes are carried out including a rolling programme of planned preventative servicing, repairs and replacement aligned and prioritised against formal review of the following six facets: physical condition, statutory compliance, space utilisation, functional suitability, quality audit and environmental management. This is a “hands on” role where significant time is spent across sites within your region focusing on those at higher risk or greater need along with general auditing and monitoring of services by site Maintenance staff and the FM Services provider.

Maintenance Surveyor duties include but are not limited to

  • Supporting the Regional Property Manager in the effective delivery of facilities management, ensuring the provision of high quality and value for money FM services in your region
  • Ensuring at all times that the care of our clients, service users or young people are not adversely affected by anything FM related including ensuring effective communication with sites, support for urgent issues, escalation of issues, contractor management and scheduling to avoid conflicts with works against the care being given
  • To be actively visiting the sites within your region to monitor performance of PPM and reactive maintenance as part of FM supplier management and undertake property inspections
  • To take the lead on monitoring FM contractor service standards and action against any agreed improvement plans reporting outcomes to the Regional Facilities Manager
  • Ensure all programmes for facilities are compliant with relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks

What we would like from the Maintenance Surveyor

  • Previous experience a similar Maintenance or property role
  • Qualification preferred but not essential:

              - MIOSH qualified
              - RICS Associate FM Qualification or BIFM/IWFM equivalent
              - Mechanical / electrical / building services

  • Multi-site building management experience required
  • Excellent IT system skills with additional knowledge in software such as AutoCAD / CAFM highly useful
  • Experience of managing/ working with FM contractors
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport
