Job Advert Role Description

We are looking for a committed Deputy Manager to join our children’s home in Weeley, Clacton on Sea. 

We have recently launched a specialist children’s residential service providing care and therapy for up to 5 young people who have social, emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties. 

Our home is part of Priory’s specialist children's services and has been specifically designed to accommodate young people within a homely residential environment, situated in Weeley, Clacton on Sea. 

Our home offers a range of nurturing and stimulating experiences that contribute to learning, social and independent skills. 

As a Deputy Manager your duties will include;

  • Managing the effective implementation of Care and Independence Programmes for our young people through the effective line management of a group of staff
  • Manage shifts for the whole site on a rota basis as well as take part in an on-call system
  • Support the Registered Manager in the management of operations in order to ensure the smooth running of the living and learning environment
  • Ensure that the programmes of care and the environment comply with statutory regulations and quality standards.

Skills & Experience

  • A sound working knowledge of the statutory requirements associated with the residential care of young people which will include Children’s’ Homes Regulations, Health and Safety legislation
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care for Children and Young People
  • Be prepared to attain a management qualification of at least or equivalent to Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social care for Children and Young people
  • Previous experience of working with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • A full driving license is also required for this post.
